Exteriors
Exterior lighting in public access applications should balance aesthetics, safety, security, and durability. Egress lighting must be incorporated to clearly illuminate exit routes and pathways, ensuring passenger safety and compliance with code requirements. For security, lighting should provide uniform, shadow-free coverage that enables security cameras to capture clear images, particularly around entry points and vulnerable areas. Durability is critical: luminaires must be constructed from robust materials like stainless steel, aluminum alloys, or high-grade plastics, and feature high IP ratings (65 or above) to withstand harsh weather, dust, water, and temperature extremes. Selecting fixtures designed for easy maintenance and long life further ensures reliable operation and reduces costs over time. These considerations together create a facade lighting system that is visually striking, safe, secure, and resilient against environmental challenges.
